Howdy, neighbor...

After a year and a bit of life in the charming Mission, on a good block of a bad street, or so they say, the wife and I are settling down in an awesome place on Waller between Fillmore and Webster in a couple of weeks. While I'll miss the many opportunities to get my hair cut in Spanish for $7, and the density of taquerias, my insane cheapskate landlord, leaky plumbing, and roach-enhanced apartment will not be missed.

Prior to our sojourn in the Mission, We lived in the Upper Haight for years, and have spent a fair amount of time in the LH already, so I wouldn't call us rank amateurs, but local insights, recommendations, and any words of wisdom are very welcome. For example: am I the only person in SF who thinks the food at Indian Oven is mediocre at best, and nowhere near as good as that at Raja?

Also, I maintain an interest in trying to form some kind of rock band, so if you're looking for a guitar player, songwriter, and singer who has a certain "not very good at it" about him, please drop me a line.

Cheers!

Never did understand what all the fuss was about Indian Oven. Had one of the worst meals of my life there and will not be back. You've got good burritos within easy walking distance, and THE best beer bar in America just up the street. Now if we could just get a good Chinese restaurant...

Welcome to the LH. It's a lovely place to live, and you can still get your hair cut for $7 in Spanish if you hop on the 22.
