So, I was wondering about the victorian at Haight and Steiner that was recently painted that raspberry sherbet pink. It was a bit, er, intense. I could only wonder if the landlord was having some sort of tiff with RNM and wanted to piss them off with that color.
Today I see they are painting the pink with a coat of cranberry that seems relatively subdued. Does anyone know the background story? Was the landlord really trying to piss of RNM? Just curious......

Re: From Raspberry Sherbet to Cranberry
Wed, September 26, 2007 - 8:27 PMIf you're familiar with the "Shut Up Little Man" underground tapes that made the rounds oh, about 20 or so years ago, the guys lived in a building on Steiner just around the corner that they called the Pepto Bismol Palace. So it appears that yucky pink is a semi-popular color with landlords. At least it's not battleship grey.
And I know that doesn't answer your question, but we're all about tangents here in tribeland now aren't we?
