that is utterly awful! turns my stomach thinking about it.......so sad. how could the police close it as a suicide? that just does not seem possible. I hope the truth comes out. poor guy....

a suicide? seriously? and yeah, i was baffled/upset i didn't see any mention of this in the Chron so far. i caught a mention of it only yesterday on sfist:

i literally live the next block up. and i walk that same last call, late night route home time and time again. for the last 5+ years. i was actually walking right near there that night (coming back from SOMA tho) about a half hour or so before i guess whatever happened happened. i've always felt relatively safe (naive probably yes i know.) i checked out the memorial yesterday after work. heartbreaking.
